Oh My Goal!! Ajax Jr Green 03 White vs Staniford SC Hurricanes

NorCal Premier State Cup Results!!

What an exciting weekend of soccer. Our U9/U10 girls and boys teams displayed strength and determination in some amazing matches this weekend at the NorCal Premier Finals.

Ajax Elite 02G - Started the weekend in the State 1 bracket semi-final against Mustang Legends.  Ajax held on to a 1-0 lead going into halftime and took control of the game in the second half taking down Mustang 4-0.  In the final, Elite 02g took on #1 ranked El Dorado Sol who they had met 2 times earlier in the season, both teams winning one match.  The game ended regulation in a 1-1 tie.  After 2 Golden Goal halves, the score remained unchanged.  The game was decided in penalty kicks which was won by El Dorado.  Fantastic job by all the ladies, it was an exciting game to watch!  Elite ’02G finished the season ranked #2 in NorCal.
Premier 02G - Began the NorCal Cup seeding rounds ranked #17 in NorCal.  But after some excellent play they solidified their ranking by making it into the Premier 1 bracket.  After having an easy go in the quarterfinal 6-0 over East Diablo Impact, the girls ran into a tough Juventus team, losing in the semi 0-2 and finishing #11 in NorCal.  This was an amazing accomplishment; Ajax is the only club with 2 teams finishing in the top 12!!!

03G Green - Battled their way into the State 1 bracket but was faced against the #1 ranked SRU Thunder.  After losing 0-4 in the quarterfinal, 03G was determined to play on and focus on winning their last 2 games.  And that’s what they did, beating COSC 02G 2-0 and then taking care of West Coast SC 3-2. ’03G Green finished the season ranked #5 in NorCal!!

On the Boys Side:

03B Green - Another exciting game determined by PK’s. After regulation and 2 - five minute Golden Goal halves they were tied 3-3 with Sacramento United Red.  After knocking in the first 4 PK’s, our boys defeated Sac United and claimed the Premier 2 Division Championship finishing the season ranked #17 in NorCal.

03B White - Were finalist in the White Bronze 1 division they won their impressive semifinal game against the Mustang Strikers 2-0 and in the Championship they fought hard throughout the game but were defeated by Stanford Soccer Club Hurricanes 4-3.

Elite 02B - Worked hard all season and were second in their group but were defeated in the Quarterfinals by COSC 02b.

One thing I noticed this weekend was the huge support for our Ajax family.  We watched several games and they were all the same, parents, family, coaches and so many green and white jackets filled the sidelines to help cheer on our players.  It was great to see that even the ones who did not participate in the finals still came out to support all the Ajax players.  It is not just about “Training the Ajax Way” here at Ajax it is teaching our players to love the game and to support and encourage all of our players.

Well done ladies!!

Spooktacular Weekend for Ajax Teams!!!

Competitive soccer allows little room for rest, relaxation and fun when we are gone every weekend attending games across Northern California. Last weekend several AJAX teams participated in Halloween themed tournaments where the players wore creative uniforms that provided a fun yet very competitive atmosphere.

Our Jr Green 03g (U9) team went 3 and 0 into the championship game at Boofest allowing only 1 goal! They played in the top group and faced Santa Rosa Thunder, ranked #1 in Nor Cal in the championship game. These 10 young girls played with intensity and so much heart but came up 1 goal short in the final minute to take 2nd place.

Our Jr Green 2004G (U8) team fought hard at the Boofest tournament held in Sacramento coming away with a 2nd place finsh.
